about us

Clio Whittaker
Clio Whittaker started Ampersand Learning in 2007 to provide delivery, consultancy and support for schools and other organizations in the area of parental involvement and family learning.

Clio has been involved with parents and schools for many years – first as a parent governor and subsequently as a family learning practitioner - and has worked with the wide range of parent experiences to be found in inner-city areas of London, including Camden, Islington, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. She has also worked with the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Clio has developed many creative and innovative workshops and courses for parents and children and is particularly interested in reading, the key skill that children learn during the primary phase.

During 2011 Ampersand has worked with Camden Adult Learning Service and the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education on a range of projects.
